My name is Ngwatle Tshokollo from Burgersfort, Limpopo. I am a first year Medical Student at the University of Limpopo.

During my first here as a medical student it was a complete chaos and disaster. I didn't know where to begin with my studies or what to expect in the medical studies I dedicated my life to.

The person who gave me hope is Dr Teffo, the Founder of the Dr Bolavis Foundation. She is sweet and welcoming. She is so far the best mentor I ever had in my life. Dr Bolavis Foundation picked me up from the disastrous week I faced as a first-year medical student. It gave me notes and the framework of the content that I will face in order for me to become a good medical student. The Foundation boasted my confidence and increased my passion for pursuing a career in medicine and surgery at the University of Limpopo.

Dr Bolavi Foundation is really a savior when it comes to shaping and creating good young doctors. I hope and I believe that I have a good future because of this Foundation and I pray for it to continue blessing others.

Ruth: Top 50 award-recipient 2025

I had a rough year in 2024?,I almost took a break last year because I felt that I'm not coping academically, then the award came as a God sent, when I needed reassurance directly from Him, that He has and will always make a way even when we feel inadequate and drained❤️❤️

Whenever I'm facing a storm, can be academically or other areas, I look at my trophy and hold on to the believe that wa re tshephishitseng wa tshephagala????❤️❤️❤️

I'm holding on to the believe that the Award giving ceremony is the best thing to ever happen to University of limpopo Medical students???

Hi Dr Bolavi ❤️🤗

Wat started as a nickname became the name of a foundation capable of changing lives 🔥...

I am Dr Lalies, currently a 1st year intern at Rob Ferreira hospital.

I was part of the top 50 students to be given an award at the 1st annual prize giving ceremony n i must say. It came as the biggest shock of my life 🥺.This was me on the picture still shocked 😂😂😂😂My legs were even shaking coz wat do u mean...

But it reminded me that in a world where a lot is going on around us, I'm still doing well academically.

My family was happy n proud. And it also restored my self confidence, and encouraged me to work even harder in my studies.

It felt good that my hard work, stress and sleepless nights were finally being acknowledged. And I think this also pushes others to work even harder so they can become better.

You really started a platform that will change many lives and for that I thank you doctor 🤭❤️.

The mother of the neonates would say, "You can't sleep like the dead and expect to make it in the world of the living"...

Ladies and gentlemen, allow me to tell y'all briefly about Dr Bolavis Annual Awards Ceremony, the first of many🙌where students who were "not sleeping like the dead" were acknowledged for all the hard work and dedication they put into their studies.

This event was not just about giving people awards, but it served as motivation to push people into becoming the best versions of themselves.

We learnt a lot from the speeches given by different speakers, words of wisdom from seniors, how they made it to the level that they are at and how everything seems impossible until you actually do it🙌

It was so much fun, learning and enjoying ourselves at the same time. If you were not there, you definitely missed out but please do yourself a favor and not miss the upcoming one. 🥳

Thank you Dr Teffo aka MotherOfTheNeonates... Your efforts are seen and appreciated.
